  1. Question: What are your admission rates?
    Answer: General admission to the Quw'utsun' Cultural and Conference Centre includes a cultural tour and viewing of our multi-media presentation entitled "Great Deeds".

  2. Question: What are your hours of operation?
    Answer: April - September: Monday to Friday 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM * Weekends10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
    Monday to Friday October - December: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM *

  3. Question: Where are you located?
    Answer: We are located on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. The Cowichan Valley, home to the Quw'utsun' people and the Cultural and Conference Centre, is halfway between Victoria and Nanaimo.

  4. Question: What does Quw'utsun' mean?
    Answer: In the Hul'qumi'num language of the Quw'utsun' Coast Salish people, Quw'utsun' means, "Warming your back in the sun."

  5. Question: Do you have children's activities?
    Answer: Children of all ages can explore and participate in the craft of the Quw'utsun' people this can be booked at an additional rate.

  6. Question: Are the items in the Gallery for sale?
    Answer: The diverse selection of fine art pieces, handcrafted by our world-renowned artisans, is available for purchase in our Gallery. The knowledgeable staff are always willing to help you find that special piece to take home with you or, if you like, we can arrange for your purchase to be shipped anywhere in the world.

  7. Question: What is used to make Cowichan sweaters?
    Answer: The soft, warm wool used in knitting Genuine Cowichan Sweaters comes from sheep raised on Vancouver Island. Fleece from breeds such as Dorset, Hampshire and Suffolk provide all the natural colors used in authentic Cowichan sweaters, from a creamy white, through brown to black. The wool is lightweight and resilient, producing a garment that is beautiful and functional. The Cowichan Sweater is knit in the round using nine needles, which creates a 'seamless' finish to the product.
