Tour Vancouver Island |
Take a few days to enjoy the scenic wonders that
Vancouver Island has to offer. From Duncan enjoy an exciting railway
trip to Victoria over high trestles and through tunnels. You can
also take a bus or car and drive over the Malahat. From its eleven
hundred foot summit you get an eagle eye view of sparkling inlets
and islands. While in Victoria take a tour on an authentic
double-decker bus to the famous Butchart Gardens.
You may also like to visit Chemainus, which is known
as "The little town that did". The town of Chemainus has won many
awards for its famous murals and community restoration. At thriving
Nanaimo many old buildings have been restored and at Qualicum and
Parksville there are quiet beaches to explore.
Be sure to head on to Campbell River for salmon
fishing. Around Campbell River, there are many fishing resorts and
historic fishing villages. At the top of the island, you can welcome
the ferry from Prince Rupert as it arrives in Port Hardy.
From Parksville you may wish to cut across the
island, through Cathedral Grove, a virgin forest, to the Pacific Rim
National Park where thundering waves wash the miles of sand known as
Long Beach. Watch for eagles, osprey, deer, elk, sea otters, sea
lions and the mammoth gray whales.
Vancouver Island is only 300 miles long. Take time
to explore it while you are here!
